First time playing this game and on the switch, have tried to fight moonlord three times and keep losing. Have full beetle armor and decent accessories totaling 104 defense. Any advice on how to defeat him. I’m using the daybreak and the terra blade. Have a long sky bridge arena. I’ve gotten him down to about half health before I end up dying.

I don’t see any wings, so I assume you’re using the ufo car key. If that’s the case, you can drop the boots and add another accessory.
If you’re just using the sky bridge, is it asphalt? That’ll let you run fast even without boots, and then you can use wings instead of boots to fly up and over his head. Asphalt bridge lets you dodge most attacks.
I recommend replacing the warrior emblem with something better, like the Celestial shell. Similarly, Flesh Knuckles can be replaced; if nothing else, you can upgrade it to the Hero Shield (or the Berserker glove if you are focusing on Terra Blade, though I recommend daybreak). The star veil is also pretty good.
Something i did when i played with my mom, is build a really long railway across the map in the sky, place campfires along the entire thing (also heart lanterns if you got the crystals), and honey encased in bubble blocks (you can move through, getting the honey effect, but the honey wont leak), which you can buy from the partygirl. Also i recommend bringing the philosophers stone or charm of myths, and using some fragments to make the better healing potions. If you do that, you basically only gotta worry about the deathray, but you should be able to outheal that. If you hammer the end points of the track, to bumpers, you will immediately be send back with full speed.moon lord cant despawn, from you being too far away. i suggest the flairon if you beat fishron, but any weapon should work. Also go for defense on everything.
I’d like to add, maybe farm for the rod of discord in the underground hallow of I think there called chaos elementals (been playing to much modded lately to remember names of enemies)
