Yes, you should definitely craft and use Fairy Wings.
First, every pair of wings at this stage of the game are equal in strength, so there’s no harm in making and equipping Fairy Wings over any other.
Secondly, wings are both easy to learn and great for mobility, making them excellent for newer players like yourself. They’re just great for moving in general.
Thirdly, replace the Magic Carpet. I’m sorry, but it’s too slow and limited at this stage of the game to be of much use.
