  1. Greg. Not bc I’ve played it at all, but because it scares me so much that I have an unhealthy obsession with staying as far from it as possible. Peak mod

  2. Gregtech, its one of the few mods that actually scratches the surface of what dealing with actual chemical processes, ore processing, ore extraction, and oil refinement is actually like. As a chemical engineer by education and process engineer in a steel mill by job, those tickle my fancy in a way very few mods even come close to doing

The idea of actually needing to separate ore from its natural minerals and distilling oil fractions into base feedstock chemicals of larger processes is literally what I love, and this mod provides it

  3. Gregtech. It is probably the biggest tech mod ever made. And the fact that you can easily made something with KubeJS and GregTech makes it even better.

  4. HBM Nuclear Tech. No other tech mod comes even close in terms of amounts of content, its quality and gamedesign (except, perhaps, Create, but that’s a slightly different category).

  5. For a single purpose tech mod: Reconstructor… because I made it.

For a general purpose tech mod: Process Enhancement… because I made it.

  6. Huge fan of mekansim in kitchen sink packs. But for an on rails experience, greg is the best by far.

  7. Depends… is blood magic a tech mod? Is botania? I think ars nouveau is at least a tech mod pretending to be an ars magika successor

  8. I really like mods that challenge the concept of “a magic block that processes everything” so I guess its Immersive Engineering and Create.

That said, I don’t mind magic blocks when its complex enough, so add Gregtech to that list, because although it does the magic block thing, you often have to link many of them together to build huge factories and infrastructures so it kinda sums it up imo.

Oritech and Mekanism are fun too.

Also honorable mention to Reika’s mods, they’re really a lost gem of the 1.7 era

  9. ImaginationNo8008 on

Mekanism, it just works so well with everything and I’m used to it so I don’t have to learn a bunch of junk to get anywhere.

  10. honestly, enderio

it’s not really the best at anything in particular, but it’s reliable and i’ve used it basically since i started playing modded minecraft years ago

it has a few issues here and there, and there’s a lot of stuff that outclasses it in most scenarios, but it’s my goat, and it’s good enough most of the time

  11. My first was mek but now I run create though I do prefer the immersive railroading trains with how they look

  12. Immersive Engineering and its add-ons. Even though I’m an IndustrialCraft 1 grandpa, I love the fact that these machines are actually huge and mechanical. I yearn to build machine halls and only the multi-block monsters enable my desires for catwalks and ladders.

  13. Mekansim for me. Single, can almost do everything and has a lot of connections to other mods plus has newer Minecraft Versions as well.
