started playing stardew a few weeks ago as my first game on the Switch, and honestly, I did not expect this at all. Growing up, I was always the Call of Duty and fifa fast paced competitive, sweaty games only. I used to think games like this were chicks game and yeah, I’ll admit I had that dumb mindset But once I actually gave it a shot, it completely flipped my perspective. There’s something insanely calming about farming, fishing, talking to villagers, and just moving at your own pace with no pressure to win or grind rankings. I didn’t realize gaming could be this relaxing and therapeutic. It’s low-key become the game I look forward to playing at the end of the day, and now I get why so many people swear by it hahaha

Yes yes yes!! I love this.
My boyfriend was also only playing sweaty games with sweaty players and I was just witnessing so much frustration while he was playing said games so I suggested stardew because it’s my absolute favorite and it’s almost like therapy for me.
For months he told me “it’s just not my kind of game” and I believe he also was under the impression that it’s just a chick game.
About a month ago I finally got him to agree to start a farm on split screen with me. Then after a few times playing together he started his own farm and became absolutely obsessed! He’s been playing more than me now! It’s so nice to see him actually excited and relaxed instead of just constant frustration.
He played a couple rounds of rocket league recently and started getting frustrated and he said to me “why am I even doing this, I should be playing stardew rn” 😆
