Regarding the end crystal error, I just made a resource pack to fix it.
I noticed the error had to do with the dimensions, I counted and determined that the end crystal was 13×14, and made the end crystal 14×14.
I'll likely make a download for it soon.

It used to be the case that a fence had a little bit of fence inside of it. But this was years ago, before spectator mode (when the Far Lands were all the rage), so it probably has been removed.

I don't see what's so special about this… It's just a matter of perspective. You can see a whole lot of different shapes in a ton of objects that way.
