The lid of the shulker pushes you into the shelf behind you but there’s not enough room so you clip into the box itself then can pass right through it. This works a bit easier with an upward facing shulker, use it to plug the top of a 1×1 hole then put a ceiling 2 blocks above it. If you stand directly on top of the box then open it, you’ll fall straight through.
