*What is Infernum mod?*
Infernum mod is an extension mod for Calamity that adds an extra difficulty – “Infernum”, that’s harder than Death mode, with a primary focus on expansive reworking of boss AIs.
I’m sure y’all have many questions regarding this track, and I bet the main one is “Why did you make this? CDMusic aka Charlie is already making the official theme!”. For that, allow me to tell you the story behind this track, and why it means so much to me.
It all began back in march, on a day where I was feeling particularly motivated. At the time, I was really obsessed with draedon’s motif, and I really wanted to do something with it. So, after asking the calamity dev team to make sure that it’s okay, I began working on my own version of the exo mechs theme, intending for it to be an alternate exo mechs theme in infernum mod.
No other calamity bosses will get this treatment in the future, so don’t ask for them.
At the time, I decided to keep this project a secret from the infernum team, intending to surprise them by posting the completed work once it’s done. Was it silly, and perhaps immature? Yeah, it was. But I just couldn’t help myself, ya know?
I then poured my heart and soul into it for the next few days, really sure that this one will truly be my magnum opus aka best work of the year. For a while, it was my pride and joy. Unfortunately, after I managed to reach the 2 minutes mark with the track… awful stuff happened.
I won’t go into details, but basically, my self-confidence took a massive dive. Same with my mental stability, to a lesser extent. It was so bad that I essentially lost all my passion for the track, as my insecurities started to set in. Suddenly, the prospect of people comparing my piece and Charlie’s official one, and potentially mocking mine for being “worse” became really dreadful. Paranoid thoughts of people accusing me of trying to “one up Charlie” or “steal his spotlight” didn’t help matters.
So, with a heavy heart, I abandoned the project and left it to collect dust. The next few miserable months flew by, and I had started to resign myself to the fact that I’ll have to move on from it eventually. But a while ago, as I was sifting through at my unfinished projects, I stumbled upon it again. Thinking “why not?”, I decided to post the WIP track for the infernum team to check out, not expecting much.
To my surprise, they really like it. They then encouraged me to finish it, as they’d love for the track to be officially implemented into infernum mod. So with some hesitation, I decided to give the track a try one last time. It was then that, as I was tweaking a few things about it and listening to it on repeat, I realized that my passion for the track was back and stronger than ever. Suddenly, all those insecurities and fears I had about the track during my rough patch didn’t seem so bad anymore.
Mind made up, the day after that I was hell bent on completing the track, and went straight to doing so after lunch. I even got a bit emotional at some points, especially as I re-listened to the climax of the track over and over again to make sure that it’s as great as I wanted it to be.
An over 5 hours marathon of a composing session later, and there’s breaks don’t worry, it was ready to go!
… Yes, I know that when the official exo mechs theme comes out, most people will likely flock to that and leave this piece of mine behind. I’d be lying if I said that the thought doesn’t make me a bit sad. But that’s alright, because when the time comes, I’ll learn to accept it eventually. Sides, Charlie deserves all those views for his hardwork!
That and… my best friend Dominic, the owner of infernum mod loves the track to bits, and I’m sure there’ll be at least be some others who do too. And that was all the encouragement I needed to post this.
Treat this track as just something to listen to while waiting for the official theme if you want, heh.
There’ll be a toggle to swap between the themes once the official theme is out too, so don’t cha worry.
Anywho, thank you SO much for all the support y’all have been giving me! It means a ton to me 😀
Now, have a good day everyone! See y’all next time! ^w^

Only recently discovered this track (planning to start my first calamity playthrough in the near future) and I have to say that this track fits the general theme of "Exo mech" pretty well. Also, this track doesn't get out of my head for the entire day now and I love it. Absolutely fantastic work, you should be proud of yourself!
Just leaving some bookmarks here: 0:21 – 1:29/5:13 – 6:21, 2:27 – 2:47/7:19 – 7:39
This is amazing. The climax where they all join together is like a mechanical war cry. For soulless machines, there’s a lot of soul in this theme.
Hey pinpin, I was wondering; since DM Dokuro's songs are basically royalty free and allowed free use as long as credit is given, will these songs ever get the same treatment?
Which part was your favourite🤔🤔
mine is Thanatos
4:55
When in computer science class you shows teacher your code in scratch that crushes pc with blue screen:
Ares: Has numerous exo weapons, two giant seords, and the ability to make multiple giant laser beams around itself
Apollo and Artemis: Two hunters who have incredible teamwork, each making up for the other's weakness, with a large amount of flames and miniture lasers.
Thanatos: Think fast, chucklenuts! Flashbangs you
10/10 track! It fits the feel of "Holy shit wtf is that a giant skeleton wtf why are 10 lasers coming out lf him HELP" while also being a bit controlled at the same time which fits Draedon watching it too!
updated version of this video ever coming? (with slight animation and gameplay snippets like with your other boss theme videos)
The way I imagine them is Ares being heavy machine, dealing not that much of a damage, and not mobile, Thanatos being a lurker, dealing big damage, but having not much defence, and then there are these 2 mfs. Not saying that I hate them though. Artemis and Apollo are nice mechs, somewhat balanced. They stay in one place but can move, they don't deal much damage but one hit makes you get hit multiple times, and their defence is alright.
Best part 2:46
why is this so good
Artemis and Apollo's theme is damn fire
Ares theme (rock?)
Thanatos theme BIG Metal WORM
Is it just me or are the exo mechs really similar to the mechanical bosses
The slightly off scales do something wild for me and idk why but damn they slap
I think for this bosses need to play SUBHUMAN from DMC
I love that "Inferior Fabrications" is still within the song, but it's got a new feeling to it, more unruly, more chaotic.
is there a mod that lets me use this for the exo mechs fight??
this is songood
This is an out done better theme than the rest like what the fuck
just when you thought yharon was/is hard this 4 dudes come up and completly ……. you
Jrjrjrjjbvejize
I was scared of playing infernum for a while now, but two weeks ago I heard this theme and Supreme Witch's and I fell in love with both of them. I also started to play infernum and I just love the OST so freaking much! Thanks a lot to making this and I hope everything goes well for you and everyone else that's listening (^~^;)ゞ
i like it
man.. FRICK the exo twins!!
I played three of this mad soundtrack 1s after the other ones.
this gotta be the best infernum song by far
What synth did you use to create the melody in the intro? I was trying to get that retro sound for a while but never managed to.
listening to 4:17 with closed eyes feels like you are ascending ngl
Heck yeah I love it
I plan to add that for my lost control killstreak
this theme just grows on you man, at first i found it out of place and weird but the more and more i listened to it the more it grew on me and i can say its probably in my top 3 calamity themes if not my favourite. I know this is a place holder but i sure hope they never change it because i dont think anything can top this
The best of the song 0:00 – 9:50
The worst part of the song: 9:51
The transition from "It has to be this way" to the "Tale of a cruel world" leitmotif was unreal
God i just fucking love the part at 9:30 what a masterpiece im legit crying while writing this comment
i cant say anything but this, THE SONG SLAPS HARDER THAN ANYONES FATHER COULD IMAGINE, EVEN WITH A BELT
It is one of my most favorite osts and bosses, not because i beat them first try in revengance, but it is just a piece of art, calamity devs actually made this boss fights in right order, you start with eye, worm and skeletron, fight mechanical clones of them and exo enchanced in post-moonlord, this made me think that these 3 bosses will always be og bosses of terraria.
And not only that, there is alot of reasons why i love these bosses, like attacks, they are familiar and not at the same time, designs and more, simply S+ tier bossfight
There is always a worm
I’m sure CDMusic’s rendition of the Exo Mechs theme is gonna be good.
But this will always be my favourite theme in all of calamity.
i'm so glad i finally listened to the exo mechs theme… this track give me so much inspiration to go above and beyond to try making music again and other things i've wanted to do but didn't because of silly doubts and how difficult they are and will be. This is my absolute favorite theme from the calamity infernum mod and it just makes me so motivated listening to it.

Ah finally, a real challenge! – Me on attempt 47 in the last hour
3:25 got me good
4:12 …VIOLENCE BRING VIOLENCE…
Now if only I could fabricate a wife
WE HAND PICKING THE MOST MENTALLY DERANGED BUT MOST PERFECTIONIST OF AN ENGINEER IN ALL OF TERRARIA WITH THIS ONE 🔥
