All new players who want to learn more about the game and how to beat it should be able to use this video to complete their first run as it should explain the most complicated and misunderstood mechanics in the game.

This guide of course will be a bit out of date with the 1.4.5 drop as things will be changed but the idea is that this can serve as a reference for most of the important getting started steps, progression steps, and general quality of life things you might miss
ERRORS – you may find more in the replies to this comment
– Slimy saddle drops in classic mode
– Pre-hardmode enemies don't get buffed in hardmode on classic difficulty
– Solar eclipse: not every mob will spawn until after PLANTERA, not Golem
– Moon Lord: when fighting him you should prioritize the top eye
– Moon Lord: The Witch's Broom, Soaring Insignia or Fishron mount are all great for Moon Lord but are not available in classic mode. The UFO mount from the martian invasion is also good but to get that, research the martian invasion on the wiki. A mine cart track can also work well.
– Palladium pickaxe requires 18 bars
– Deerclops DOES respawn but it takes 24 hours in game
– Skeletron in Classic mode does not shoot skulls and the head does not have extra defense, you can just target the head
this guide is a bit fast for some in terms of tempo but damn is it GOOD!

If someone is in need of a beginner's guide you should be directing them to Journey difficulty, not Classic. It literally is whatever difficulty you want plus extra options.
three minutes in and i'm gonna say you went through everything a little fast. it sounds like you are an ai on 1.5x speed.
Void bags can be useful to get you more inventory space! You can also leave potions in there since it counts as your inventory!
Instructions unclear, there's a big reindeer with 1 eye spawn camping me
Think you might have forgotten that the King Slime has a chance to spawn on the outer edges of the world. I can image new people just exploring, trying to reach the ocean and than King Slime just appeared out of no where.

Pls can someone tell me why /death doesnt work anymore. I cant do it like Idk 1 year or so. Still have to use the Nurse to see how often I died (or other players who write /alldeath)

Personal take here but I think corrpution is easier than crimson, pre hard mode at least. Probably more noob friendly aswell
if you think terraria is a massivly complex game, try to play factorio. i really recommand it

I know most people who play terraria know what they are doing, but it should be possible for new players to get into too because it is the best game! So thank you so much for taking the time to figure out what we take for granted.
Journey mode would be best for new players due to them being able to experiment and play at their own pace. Corruption would be easier to play on than Crimson for a new player especially in pre hardmode due to lesser amount of enemies (though having more defense from certain hardmode accessories is still good). Similar to the bewitching table and how it grants an extra minion for summoners can get the sharpening station from houses found in the caverns or underground jungle (armor penetration for melee) ammo box from the arms dealer in hardmode (save in ammo consumption) and crystal ball from the wizard (buff in mage weapons). Slimy saddle can be obtained in classic mode, the royal gel is expert, BoC doesn’t have the phase where he has 3 illusions of the themselves with them, Skeletron doesn’t shoot skulls in classic mode. Pylons can’t be used during boss fights and invasions. After destroying one altar the pirate invasion has a chance to start. When fighting queen bee and plantera never leave the jungle as they’ll become enraged and never teleport home since Queen Bee will follow you instead of de spawning.
