This might just be personal taste but I prefer putting the dark at the bottom, especially if there is water because when things are wet they tend to get darker

Flip the gradient upside down, and use deepslate tiles for a darker end

I think this is a good gradient, but since there’s water at the bottom, maybe flip the gradient?
