Why aren’t my gemcorns growing? They’re three blocks apart, underground, there are no walls, they have plenty of clearance, no water, and their base is touching another piece of stone.

  1. If im correct the adjacent tiles also need to be stone, replace the mud and see if they grow

  2. [From the wiki](https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Gemcorns#Growing_conditions): “The sapling can only be planted on any Stone Block, including biome and mossy variant. **At least one tile adjacent to the block the sapling is planted on also has to be one of these blocks.**”

Replace the mud with stone. If you want a way to mark where to place the saplings, use paint, or just make the layer under the first with different blocks instead.

  3. At least one of the two adjacent tiles laterally need to be stone to allow the stump shape to form. (One stone left or right of each, instead of the mud).
