ive noticed that basically no one ever marries maru and that baffles me!!!!!!!! her cut scenes r adorable, she waters plants and fixes fences, and actually has a life outside of just being the farmers wife!! she continues to work at the clinic and goes and visits her family every once in a while. she builds an entire robot to take care of her parents once she moves out!!!!!! shes so sweet just look at her answer to the farmer asking to dance 🥹 i think everyone needs to romance maru in their next save shes such a cutie

Maru is my 2nd favorite partner, along with Haley
Penny will always be my favorite but Maru is one of the best spouses imo

Idk, lots of people marry any one bachelor/ette in the game. They don’t always write about it online.
I like Maru but her schedule is rather restricting in terms of getting to her while balancing the farm imo.
That said, I’m sure plenty of people do. They just don’t talk about it
What I’m about to say might be controversial and rude of me, but I’ll risk it.
A player starting out in Stardew Valley, whenever they have the opportunity to talk to any of the candidates, male or female, will always focus on the character themselves, their attractiveness, and little by little, their curiosity will reveal traits like their routine, personality, and character. Furthermore, new players might fall in love with the first candidates they speak to and pay attention to.
As for my personal opinion, I don’t dislike Maru and Abigail, but they don’t quite fit into the game. They’re rarely seen walking around town, and I don’t feel there’s much to highlight about them.
(Again, this is just my opinion and what I think about it; please don’t hate me or send me death threats.)
I married her twice already (I have only made 3 saves ever since I started playing in July), I love her character a lot bc she’s a great representation for me and some of my friends, and I love how cute she is and all the cool stuff she does

Sorry to break this to you but many, many people marry Maru. Idk where you are getting your data from but this game is one of the best selling games of all time and every marriage candidate has a huge fan base.
I’ve only ever married maru, there is a lot of good choices in pelican town, but she’s my favorite.

I’m sure this is a product of reporting bias. Not sure why she’s not mentioned as much on the sub Reddit. I’ve never married her. She seems cool. As an older player, I tend to gravitate toward more mature characters. She and Abigail are just too young.
She has always felt like the youngest available NPC to romance. Like…painfully young, even younger than Abigail.
And I don’t know why! She has a job as a NURSE! Arguably she should be somewhere like 22-25 years old at the youngest, but she’s always seemed like she had just BARELY turned 18 before the farmer showed up. She always felt like a younger sister type companion than someone I’d be interested in romancing.
A lot of the spouse choices seem too young for me. I liked Penny at first but she just seemed really young and I got the ick
Just a note that Maru isn’t the only one who helps on the farm. All the spouses do the same tasks like water plants occasionally.
Main reason I’ve read, is that the two-heart cutscene involving Demetrius, puts a lot of people off pursuing a relationship w/ her. Not sure of any other reason for her to be the least-popular marriage candidate
I’ve never married her (or any of the other bachelorettes), but I’m excited for the playthrough I’ll do where I will marry her. She seems very sweet. Honestly, the girl deserves **way** more love
I’m on my first full playthrough of SDV, and she’s one of my candidates, I’m between her, Sebastian, and Elliot. I don’t know yet. Right now, I’m working on getting my friendships to max with all the main characters, and then I’m gonna decide. I do adore Maru, tho. It’s so hard to decide.
I picked Maru, I’m a nerd and needed a nerd to nerd with me. She’s so sweet and nobody else in town really struck out to me.
