Unironically, I could very well see Mojang adding something like Hermitcraft/Vanilla Tweaks “Age Lock” data pack to the vanilla game..
Not necessarily in the current nametag implementation, likely a new item or new functionality for an existing item, although it could just as easily be a new nametag Easter egg like Dinnerbone/Grumm, Jeb_ for sheep, etc.
