In a recent interview, an anonymous sprite artist from Re-Logic confirmed that they hired NSFW Stardew Valley artists to aid in the creation of 1.4.5's NPC portraits:
"yeah [we] hired a few NSFW artists from [Stardew Valley] to help lighten the workload"
When prompted, the anonymous employee stated that these artists were mostly hired to help create the portraits for the Angler, shimmered Goblin Tinkerer, Dye Trader, and Tavernkeep.
