Disclaimer: This onion idea is not mine originally. It is from a 3 yo post on here.

Okay, so after doing a ranger playthrough on master mode I ran into two issues: I was constantly out of waterleaf due to crafting lifeforce/luck/fishing potions (I enjoy fishing, I know it is wrong) . AND IT TOOK 6 FCKin HOURS to get a blizzard after killing WoF. By the time I finally got a frost core I was already banging golem in the back of his crib.

So why can't we have a nice rain and wind toggle? I don't think it would break the game or anything, just make it less RNG reliable to a minor aspect that is rain/wind. It would make Frost/forbidden armor more accessible and make it easier to farm potions on the side (we already have blood moon toggle and thus free deathweed, which is arguably more useful AND THE FULL MOON IS SCHEDULED). If it is that unbalanced, you could make it consumable idk.

I know you can toggle both in journey mode, but its a creative mode so meh, not everyone has the discipline nor the will to not cheat a little bit with that menu.

another little idea is to give slimes a chance to carry coral on beaches, red pls…

  1. I’d jist give the pirate a sold item that does it. It’d give him and the whole event more worth.

  2. I have a better idea! Combine Umbrella, Water Fountain and Nimbus Rod at Ecto Mist!

    **Rain Monolith**

    Can be placed

Able to call the rain, once per week

Rain lasts much longer than naturally should (unless toggled via Journey)

    “Beware of cats and dogs.”

For Windy Day: Combine Weather Vane, any Kite and Pin Wheel (that spinny thing sold by Merchant) at Sky Mill!

**Magic Windmill** (yes! Terraria never has craftable windmills!)

    Can be placed

Able to bring winds, once per week

Wind blows longer than naturally should (unless toggled via Journey)

“Behold! The beauty of the wind!”

What do you think? It’ll function similarly to Enchanted Dials!

Addition: Yep. Coral Slimes should’ve spawn inside the water. It can swim and never float. Plus rare chance to drop Lime Kelp. And how about Shell Slimes?

  3. Rain should also make it blizzard in snow (yes, it technically doesn’t do this, learn the hard way by playing Thorium mod)

Can they be obtainable elsewhere or craftable? Since not everyone likes fishing and id like to get these without needing to. Maybe Onion Slices drop from demons like a food item would for the corruption/crimson enemies (borgor), and umbrella in ocean chests? i dont think weather would break too much so why even gatekeep behind hard mode?

If it needs to be hardmode, then make the onions only drop during hard mode, and the umbrella can be crafted with iron/lead, hardmode ores, and silk in a graveyard

Killing ladybugs makes it a lot more likely to start raining soon. You can catch a bunch on a windy day then kill them later to make it rain.
