Remember the scene in Laputa where the golem hands Sheeta some flowers? Minecraft iron golems holding up poppies to villagers is a direct reference to that scene 🙂

[Well known fact, that’s been on the wiki for years](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Iron_Golem#:~:text=An%20iron%20golem%20is%20a,patrol%20and%20protect%20their%20villages.).
Notch directly stated that this was the inspiration for the Iron Golems when they were being developed.
