I haven't played Minecraft since I was a kid and started playing again recently. I was exploring on creative mode and stumbled upon this place. Can someone help me identify some things in the video? What biomes are these and what's special about them and is the cavern naturally like this or is my game bugged.

  1. Ecstatic-Hat-1093 on

After the caves and cliffs update, the caves went from small and dingy, to these massive caves.

You can now have Lush Caves and Stalagmite Caves. So the old school feeling is gone now.

Iron is way easier to get now. But diamonds? You’ll be lucky to find a 3 vein in these big caves.

  2. My thoughts exactly lol I stopped playing this game in 2013 and went back playing it in 2025, my jaw just dropped because how massive the cave now compared to the older one

  3. A lot of people were upset with this change, but I really love these mammoth caves. You can find axolotls in Lush Caves. And moss which is a very dynamic block. Dripstone caves are useful for the stalagmites. Their used in auto-farms to get endless lava and also clay.

I guess we should mention The Deep Dark and Ancient Cities. I’ll just mention that they exist. You can research them if you want. I think it’ll be more fun to find them sight-unseen and explore them without any knowledge of what lurks there…
