nights edge is absolutely insane once you get it. It's good till hard mode and its viable for mech bosses which allow it to become true nights edge. Then after a bit it can become terra blade which is just broken for late game.
Reason why nobody uses thorn chakram is because it exists in the same realm as blade of grass
