So I played on switch until year 4, and started a new save on mobile and think about skipping out on this book considering the roe always felt like a crap reward from chests. Does skipping this book influence getting more items from chests opposed to fish roe?

No, the roe is an additional reward on top of whatever you’d get otherwise.
it’s a bonus reward and with good inventory space you just get free cash out of it
I think you should read every book at least once.
I’m not sure but I think you need to read all the books (even this one) for some reason…
Roe is easy cash. But I sell the roe from cheap fish.
As others have mentioned, you get the roe as a bonus, it doesn’t replace any rewards.
Roe can be processed and sold for more money! It can be a hastle if you don’t have the inventory space or you’re too busy making jam and stuff, but it can add some extra cash if you’re low.

I may be imagining things, but I think after you read this book once, future copies add fishing skill, so might be worth reading if your skills aren’t at maximum.
The roe is to good to pass up
Something feels…. off.
If you read the book multiple times, does the chance of getting roe continue to increase?
The only annoying thing is roe filling up your inventory. But I always like this book, especially early game, as roe is decent, free energy at that stage of the game.
It’s worth it. Roe can help you a lot
No one is answering the question. Does more roe equal less artifacts and loot in chests??
Getting roe this way means you can finish the remixed CC fish farmer bundle WAY earlier than using ponds. And you’d be surprised how many times finding sturgeon roe has helped me finish the theater. Totally worth it.
You can always throw it away if its a low value fish. If I don’t have the inventory space I don’t typically bother with the roe.
