I build chests everywhere for this reason 🤣
1 on the island beach for fish or else
1 for fishing at the beach
1 inside the volcano entrance
1 in the mines
1 in the cave
Drop it all inside, die ☺️ and dont lose a single thing. Or drop important things before entering the mine, even if I die, I can pick that up tomorrow

Put a trunk near your beach home and the volcano. Drop off any items not needed and pick them up later.
