I am confused why Pierre is no longer at max hearts? I know villagers don't lose hearts once they're maxed and I have achieved Perfection on this save so I am 100% certain he was at max hearts before this. Is this a bug? Is there an explanation?
Or is it because I put grass in his shop?

Some of them lose friendship points depending on your answers in some cutscenes. You can also lose them if you give them disliked or hated gifts, if they see you rummaging in the trash, or hitting them with a slingshot.
