Sorry for the bad quality picture, I’m playing on my switch. Anyways, is this part of a new update?? I’ve never seen this before. This is level 2 of the regular mines, I’ve already completed the entire mines, I’m not currently doing a quest or anything, and I’ve honestly never seen this level before. Is this part of a new update or have I just somehow never gotten this mine floor before?

Remixed mine levels were added in 1.6… which came out two years ago now.
So they are not really *new* new, but it was part of the most recent update.
I honestly can’t remember the criteria for getting them to start showing up but I think it’s something like year 2 and have reached level 120 in the base mine, then there is a chance mine levels can use alternate layouts.
There are some really neat/unique ones too! My favorite part about it is making it more interesting to go back and farm the earlier mine stages. I especially like this layout (which also has a version for the mine) that makes it feel more like an abandoned mine.
Tip: if you have not collected the coal from the minecart on that floor before (ever in that save) they all will have coal.

Is this in the skull caverns? Some new layouts were added to the 1.6 update for skull cavern floors. The regular mines remix only changes the rewards from chest floors I believe.
