After yet another year 1 winter where I found myself completely unprepared to do anything I wanted to do, I decided to start selling some things I had in chests. I realized I had a bunch of snow yams, and they sold for 100g each – something I had never clocked before. So, the next day I went down to the beach and went crazy with my gold hoe, then I went in front of and behind Jodi's place, and that usually ate up the last part of my day. During the festival I went to the quarry which also got me some much needed wood. Every day I've done this I netted over 5000g in just snow yams and winter root which quickly got me back to where I needed to be for my coop upgrades, and I'm now using the last few days of the season to prepare for spring seed purchases.
Maybe this is out dated or mostly irrelevant if you plan ahead, but year 1 winter is always a slog for me and this is (literally) a game changer.

next time you can save these up and plant winter seeds. if you plan it right you can get 2 crops out of them and with the botanist perk you end up farming iridium quality which is a nice way to keep the farm going over winter. don’t want all those sprinklers going to waste.
