Hello! Hoping a more veteran player can help me figure out why this one specific farm square never stays tilled / grown. It digs fine, I throw the same fertilizer there as I do the rest, plant the seeds, and within a few days the rest grows and this one does this. I've added tons of lightning rods around the field (no storms happened between the plant being there and disappearing), there are two rarecrows more than close enough (I think so, anyway, if they have the same radius as the normal one), and definitely did NOT hit it with my pickaxe at any point.
halp ;_;

That is VERY strange. I don’t see anything immediately wrong – that’s close enough for the rarecrow to work, definitely.
It might be a single glitched tile I guess? You could move the scarecrow to that spot to use it and try planting where the scarecrow is. Since it won’t accept plants, maybe it can be useful that way.
Which farm is it?
Chances are that when you were planting, you missed putting seeds on that one exact spot and never noticed until it became untilled
If it is always the same spot something strange is definitely happening. Lightning rods are not 100% efficient so there is always the chance of lightning.
Most likely glitched or you have a habit of missing that square when planting.
That is really weird. I’ve never seen or heard of it myself, so chances are, it is either a rare glitch, or a glitch with the most recent update.
You should head over to the help & bug report page on the stardew valley forums (the official support page) so that ConcernedApe can see it.
Just for kicks and grins, try hitting it with your pickaxe a few times? Or put a piece of flooring over it and then pickaxe it back up? My completely untested theory is that for no good reason the game thinks you have a flooring piece on there, and it’s causing a conflict between the flooring code and the planting/hoeing code.
Ohhh we just did perfection on meadowlands farm, I did see a spot missing, I think it’s that same one!!! Good catch!!
Id just put a scarecrow there
Where at? I’d like to check mine.
