I was just fishing around and caught a mutant carp, the game said it was some sort of legendary fish? Trying to play with as little big spoilers as possible (beyond the usual don't sell the dino egg and the occasional check… because gifts are hard). Is there something I should or shouldn't do?

It’s just one of the legendary fish, which are generally harder to catch and you can only catch one of each per save file.  You can put it in a tank or fish pond.  I wouldn’t sell it or make sushi with it.

  2. Make sure that whatever is attacking it with an ugly stick stops. Same for the glacial fish.

  3. There are five Legendary fish in the game, and you can’t get more than one of these particular five, so you’ll wanna keep them. Ideally you’ll want them in fish ponds to make you expensive roe, but displaying them in a fish pond or something is also a great shout

I prefer ponding them until a later minor quest in the late game, after which I switch the fish out and put them in a tank for display instead; >!a Mr Qi quest in which you can fish up a clone of each Legendary fish that’s slightly different to the main one. I like to put those in the ponds instead so that I can display the real deals, and they function exactly the same so there’s no loss to that!<

If you’re dumb like me, you’ll store it in the fridge and accidentally make it into sashimi.

  5. On my first playthrough, I put all of my legendary catches on display on nice side tables for decoration.

  6. Collect 3 more. Throw some bandanas on their heads. Teach them to fight crime once they reach teenagehood.

  7. Use it to make the sashimi that Pierre asks for, enjoy the radiation you robber baron
