I don't know why Lewis isn't running maybe he croaked over and died. Or maybe Marnie finally decided she wanted me and left Lewis and he couldn't take it and skipped town.
Gus. Gus for Mayor. Already beloved by most of the town, knows everyone, fed/feeds Linus. Also I dont think Kent would be a good mayor. He can barely handle his own family after the war.

Conspiracy Theory: Haley and Emily’s parents aren’t “on vacation.” One or both of them tried to run for mayor, so Lewis had ’em disappeared.
He sends the girls fake postcards addressed from their parents to keep them off his scent.

Honestly, post-development Haley might be the best bet for the future, but Pelican Town’s problems run really deep no matter who the mayor is.

I think Robyn would actually be a good candidate. Although depending on how you play, the farmer could make a good choice too

I feel like it’s pretty common among the fandom to think that Robin should be the mayor. She already does a lot of the same work as Lewis, introducing newcomers to the valley, setting up the request board, etc. He already takes credit for her work and the two of them banter a lot. Seems like he just enjoys the pomp and circumstance of town events, while Robin does the actual hammering and legwork.
