Is this real? 😭


I was scrolling across some posts and I saw whatever this was. Seems pretty obviously a scam/joke but wanted to flag it in case anyone's actually getting it.

    I sent him $210 in itunes cards and he told me pelican town is actually purgatory.

    No, this is a scam.

    Concerned Ape has an income from Stardew Valley and so doesn’t need to ask the fans for money.

    Even if he did need to crowdfund; that’s what crowdfunding sites are for, where he can contact the entire community. Not one fan at a time

    And finally anything that asks you to hand over giftcards is basically guaranteed to be a scam as the money is untraceable and nonrefundable.

    Good reminder for everyone that if anyone is asking you to buy gift cards to “help them out,” it’s very likely a scam. Especially when said person is a well-known creative that’s made more than enough money.

    I think the most wild one was Seattle District Court asking me for gift cards to pay off a driving ticket.

    These sort of scams are being run in every community with every founder it seems.

    It is the new hotness.

    Just remember, the real CA givith and taketh not.

    Honestly If it was actually CA id probably just give him the money without asking for anything in return. His game has helped me thru the worst times.

    What kind of gift cards do you think hed actually ask for assuming it was actuallyhim, just curious what you guys think.

    I wanted to say that no this is not real, but i’m real and i need to tell you that your town will be erased due to a bug in the game. I know, it’s sad, but i found a way to fix it. You see the government has a deal with Google to pay your taxes using Google Pay gift cards. You know Google Pay right? It’s very real. If you can go to Best Buy and buy 5000 dollars worth of Google Pay gift cards and send me the codes, I can fix the bug and your town will be saved. You’ll notice the cards say Google Play, but this is just a bug in the system. The IRS will fix that too.

    Also, i kidnapped your grandfather and if you ever want to see him again you’ll get those giftcards. Throw in some Pizza Hut gift cards too.
