i think they're fun the first and second and maybe third time for most people, and i feel it's not necessarily the enemies or the dying that's the issue, more the having to refight them often to retry moonlord if you fail as it is a hard fight and players may take multiple tries to beat it. also, the fragments it drops are fairly scarce to craft a lot of the moon emblem thing so i, personally, think that's why the consensus is that they're disliked!

I have never died on any pillar, so I haven't ever needed to walk back😅 and I think pillars are fun to fight
