I don’t think so. The slider shows up in the end credits with the list of monsters, so I think it is technically a monster!

The slider is coded as a monster, so nope! This is just… maybe the only way you can get rid of them.
Frogs can eat armored bugs and so on, too.
The ice rod can also freeze the sliders, so not too surprising that the frog works on them as well.
You can take the dang tractor in there?!?!?
