What do yall think about Tower Defense games in roblox nowadays?
Since "Toilet tower defense" came out, it seems this typa of games, "tower defense" idk how to call them is slowly dying in the roblox community. What do yalk think ?
this is the only popular tower defense game left that lets you actually buy towers instead of gamble for them. There arent any units downright better than others, and the game is great.

tds is cool but holy fuck that i hate that event towers are just unable to be obtained if you missed the event, i don’t care that they’re bad, i still want to use them

Other than the big 2 (TDS n’ TDX) I almost never see any other TD games hit above the 1k player threshold.
Tower Heroes is highly dependant on teamwork if you’re planning on doing a majority of the content, CTD is genuinely underrated, Tower Blitz is straight up dead, etc, etc.
The only exception is Battle Bricks, and even then it’s only around 2k (I don’t count the brainrot/gamba td games, they’re dead to me)
I guess in an age of rotting brains and deteriorating attention spans, people just aren’t interested in games that require our brain cells to work overtime

any media has its shitty cnp tower defense roblox game, my friend played a different yet exactly the same one of these every day a few years ago it was kinda annoying, like, when i told him to hop on whatever other game he was still on that tower defense grind, wasting his time because hes gonna switch to a different game the day after, with it having exactly the same mechanics. hes just resetting his progress every day. do people genuinely have attention spans this low

Tdx and tds is fine, generally long lasting td games usually are good (besides the “anime” and trendchasing td games, they suck hard)

Well they have all started dying but heres my opinnioins from all ones that i have played
Tds has started losing its originality for me and locking stuff behind paywall even If they are skins Is already enough for me to quit (might sound wierd ik)
Tdx while otherwise one of best designed games and with interesting gimmecks it has very bad grinding forced to it and battlepasses usually have stuff that isnt related to season
Fnaf td (not gambling one) while under fnaf title its still supricinly original but main problem is that it lacks updates but it has good contract system for towers and event stuff can be got again
Scp td only game that doesnt have Limited time events But it has battlepass that can be bought for robux or ingame tokens And If you happened to miss last pass you can buy skins and towers from shop and its only game with gadgets that you can use Infinity amount of times with cooldown
Those were ones that i remembered for now If i remember others i will add to this comment (sorry for bad english)

TDS is cool, and while the monetization could probably induce a heart attack in an early 2010s Roblox player, it doesn’t lock any actual gameplay elements behind paywalls, and even the more controversial elements are trivial compared to brainrotslop td games.
(the spin wheel, which only gives a bit of currency and a few powerups which you get boatloads of normally, and the skill tree that takes several days of playtime to grind for, does not affect balance and is meant as a soft progression for endgame players)
I really would recommend TDS if you just want a simple TD game to burn a few days playing (you’ll get 90% of shop towers in under 3 days of consistent playing, less than 5 hours each day). Although, I will have to say, it is pretty easy, and you can solo almost every gamemode, and with just level 50 (out of 175) or under towers, you can solo all of the main modes.
