The quest can spawn at any point, but will only give you until the end of the current season to complete. I only accept it when im given the full 4 weeks to complete.. personally I like winter because im not farming anything else.

You can get seeds from geodes, foraging, fishing, mining. Build a collection and then when you harvest them, put them in a seed maker and keep making more.

  2. Get the quest with a good amount of time, it can be up to 28 days.

Spam geodes to get a starting few beans.

Use hyper speed gro to make them grow faster.

Use seed makers on the batches of fruit to get more beans, then ship the fruit on the last day.

On the first day, I get as many beans as possible. I chop trees, break my supply of geodes, etc. I aim to have about 15 or so. I plant those the day I get them. If I don’t get 15 on the first day I do the same the second day. Of course, any bean I pick up on other days is planted as well ASAP.

Then, at every harvest, I put the fruit in seed makers (you’ll want at least 5-10 seed makers for this) and replant the resulting beans. Continue to do this until I have about 250 beans planted. At that point I start shipping stuff, but I make sure to prioritize having 250 plants first (via seed maker) before shipping the rest. Once 250 are shipped and 250 are in the ground, I wait to harvest and shop the rest.

Depending on how much space you allocate you could continue until you have all 500 planted before shipping everything you can, I just think 250 is a reasonable number to be able to obtain to make sure you can ship things on time.

Seed makers + the volcano. I got the most qi beans from grinding the volcano every day and then once I hit around 48 or so qi beans every harvest I would hit the seed makers and then replant. Also you need fast growing fertilizer!

  5. If you ignore the quarry like I do, clearing that out with a few bombs can quickly get you some beans.

  6. Treasure totems can give you an absurd amount of beans. Get some totems, do a bit of fishing, and you can easily get 70-100 beans in a day. Then plant them with some deluxe speed gro, harvest, and throw the fruits in the seed maker. Repeat growing and reseeding until you get 500 beans, then sell that crop

  7. Easy build like 10 seed makers or more, get a bunch of beans from doing literally anything (my favorite is running the volcano because I neeeeed that dragontooth cutless or caverns) plant as many as you want, then make more beans from seed makers

One thing I do before this quest even pops up is plant a whole lot of trees around the valley. I try not to chop many, if any, down until I start the quest. Then I chop ALL of them down, and that gives me a bunch of seeds to start with. After planting all those seeds and harvesting the fruit, I put all the fruit I’ve harvested into seed makers. I do that over and over, not putting any fruit into the bin for the first few harvests. Then keep making seeds and putting a good half of the fruit I harvest into seed makers the bin. It took me a few tries to finish this quest. But I did it!!

Never take it with less than 21 days. Ideally have fields planted on Ginger Island with mature starfruit and hyper speed grow, so you can pick them and replant with Qi Fruit as you go, so I won’t take it unless I have already had a chance to gather a lot of radioactive ore.

First thing, take all the Omni geodes, artifact troves, golden coconuts that you have to Clint. Break all of them: you will get a nice pile of seeds and no time will have passed. Plant all of these the first day, ideally with hyper speed grow, and then go about your normal tasks for the rest of the day. Plant seeds as you get them, then when it comes time to harvest, use several seed makers to process all the fruit into seeds, and get those all planted.

Once you have around 150 seeds planted, you can start only refilling the current spots with seeds and shipping any surplus fruit. I like to make sure I can harvest the whole field (sometimes waiting for the final harvest for a day or two to make sure it is all ready), so I can replant it immediately with starfruit without losing the fertilizer.

I try to get at least 50 seeds from breaking open the geodes, plant them with the growth speed boosting fertilizers. Pop them into the seed makers and repeat the process while farming for the seeds in mining and fishing too. I also use treasure totems in desperate situations but it has rarely worked out for me.
The number of beans I get from my methods is very close to the required number. So not much extra beans

Treasure totems definitely get me the most beans! I’ve gotten a good amount from geodes, too, but those treasure totems (especially used on ginger island) will get me almost 200 in 1 day with about 60 totems. I’ll usually plant a bulk on ginger island, with a few on the main farm if I have room. I use seed makers sometimes but usually don’t need them. I’ve gotten the quest done with 14 days to spare as my current record

I once read a really good tip for this here and I’ve followed it ever since and it has never failed me:

Even before you get the quest, start planting leftover tree seeds all over the area with the bathhouse, so that the whole area is filled with trees.

Once the quest comes around, cut them all down which should give you plenty of starter seeds right away. Plant them, let them grow, use the produce you get to make more seeds. Repeat until you have enough to finish the quest.

I have failed this quest twice. The first time not knowing how tricky it was and the second time on purpose. Instead I focused on planting the seeds to get a large Qi fruit. One finally came two days before the quest ended!

I’m just waiting for the quest to come around a third time and I think I’ll have a head start. Good luck!

  15. I enjoy going in the caves and one of my perks I think is extra geodes. Then I use that statue and hope for more geode luck from it. I’ve been saving my geodes all year and when I do, I’m going to use the geode crusher and open them all and get tons of beans. I do this and plant them all in the first few days. Then I grow them and then rinse and repeat. Using fertilizer and fast grow and those boosts help too. This is my absolute favorite quest!

  16. AbbyTheOneAndOnly on

i always have a generous stack of geodes, i open like a 100 of them to get my first seeds, then you plant, shove in the seed maker and plant again

Open stockpiled feodes day one for massive supply. Speed grow and agriculturist. Two day growth. Seed maker. Average doubling or greater my supply every other day. Sell at end.

The quest has a steep learning curve, so most people google it and get told roughly the same as above… And to only start it in first or second week of the season

  18. ConditionSecret8593 on

Do it twice. When you get a giant qi berry don’t break it open – it will stay on your farm until the next time you do the quest. Pop it then, and throw the resulting fruits into seed makers on your next pretty-good luck day. Play the rest as you did the first time.

  19. I don’t like any of the quests with what feels like arbitrary timelines. I just accept, see the timeline, and generally have to cancel because it’s logistically impossible for me to complete. It’s pretty frustrating.
