That opening left (there used to be a door in it) doesn't seem to be something I can directly get through, at least short of finding a transformation item (no luck at that yet.)
Am I missing something? I've checked the layout via Terramap and this looks like the only entrance but a good long way.

Since you’re in hard mode you can try to get the vampire mount that turns you into a vampire bat so you can get through or you can find a jungle tree that has the mouse mount

Anyways, just hammer the blocks a bit, and if that isn’t enough, hoik them.
Have you tried completely closing it and using a hoik? It should work
A grapple hook has gotten me through some similar spaces, try grappling the top of the floor block.
spamming your hook is probably the easiest way. you might need to place some blocks to make it work better

Place blocks on red and put platforms on yellow. Hammer each platform (hoik) once and walk to left while you are holding down too. It should allow you to pass. Iirc hammering once is enough for such cases.

Place blocks in a horizontal line above the opening and start hooking like crazy to it. Should pull your ass through
