Is there any reason to make a silk touch axe that a different silk touch tool/fortune axe can’t do?

Bookshelves, mushroom blocks, honestly thats pretty much it. If you have the resources I dont think theres any reason not to

  2. They break the things that you usually need silk touch for faster than a pick, and you get more out of it than if you use fortune

  3. I’d say there’s no reason to make a fortune axe instead of silk touch one as it’s only good for getting more melon slices and you surely have a better food source at this point

Not really worth it unless you’re doing some super specific build where you need tons of oak logs or something. Fortune axe is way more useful for apples and saplings, and if you need silk touch for anything else you probably already have it on a pickaxe

Most people just stick with fortune on the axe and use their silk touch pick when they actually need silk touch blocks

  5. Give me any single reason to not put silk touch on it. Its not fully enchanted if it doesnt have either silk or fortune and give me a good reason to have fortune on my day to day axe.

I always eventually end up making a secondary axe with fortune, for when i need to farm say, mushroom blocks (fortuning mushroom blocks gives more mushrooms, meaning you can grow more faster) which is like, barely ever. I probably use it most to turn bookshelves into books from random strongholds or mansions, but even thats a stretch

  6. Silk touch axe works great for farming whole Melons without breaking them. I think they worked on Mushrooms as well.

Personally I use mine to grab some leaf blocks when I’m chopping trees without having to switch tools, it’s not exactly game changing but it’s a nice bonus..

I am rocking a gold silk touch hoe in my newest hardcore world. Found it in a ruined portal chest. It does the job the same as any silk touch tool.
