Holy crop
The game checks if the crop on the top left corner of a 3×3 area is fully grown and watered to make a giant crop. The growth state of the other 8 doesn’t matter so long as they’re the same as the top left one.

same happened to me with melons lol, speed gro can mess with giant crop checks iirc. still trying to get a giant cauliflower after 3 seasons
