Side by side comparison of the block texture in my current build and a screenshot from a few years ago.
I really liked the subtle color differences between the stripped spruce and the stripped dark oak because I could make patterns on the floor without being super overwhelming, but now it looks fucking dumb.
I get that it’s meant to be similar to the plank color now, but it just annoys me :/
I didn’t think it was that big of a deal that the logs were darker but whatever. RIP

Just change the floor then, not that big of a deal
replace it with dark oak in the same pattern. It’s a good change tbh, just sucks u have to adjust it.
New texture looks like shit comparatively, I like how they’re going out of their way to change the design of seemingly random things that nobody asked them to change. & of course you’ll have a whole lot of bootlickers here saying how it’s fine, yes because the game that has always respected a player’s build randomly going out of their way to change a key element of said build is a big deal I’d argue. Nobody asked for this just like nobody asked for that dumbass baby update.
Why on gods green earth would they mess with spruce textures
What’s always annoyed me is that the spruce has a little GREEN in it now and it’s AWFUL. Obviously it’s very subtle but the old spruce palette didn’t have a *trace* of green and it looked so much better combined with oak than it does now.
