Seriously golden tools have no right being this bad and don’t get me started on how gold in better than silver in almost every other game

  1. Sure they do, gold is really malleable. They’d make pretty garbage tools irl. Minecraft emulates that. Other games just don’t care.

Gold can’t mine gold ore because silicon dioxide is harder AND stronger than gold

Gold should have a higher multiplier for enchants like efficiency and unbreaking. I know gold tools already have a higher base enchantment table “enchant ability” stat but I don’t think that really softens the blow of the extreme durability problems. I also think they should have about a 10-15% mending xp cut to repair tools (this could also be extended to armor but I fear that could be a bit too strong) . The gold tools and armor all looks really cool it’s just kind of a shame they are pretty impractical and often times you’re better off just crafting golden apples with it.

Nah, Minecraft is the prime example of the only one who got it right, gold is a very soft metal and would make for a shit tool irl.
