I can't figure out for the life of me how to get these to work, there are so few guides and videos on this game, radiation is such a pain , the armor barely helps so i was hoping these would help only to find out they can't be applied?

can you read the text on your screen please
In smithing templates with a a gold ingot for tiers diamond for tiers two and netherite ingot for tiers three (and like the other said read the text that’s here to help and use JEI/MEI too)
Hit U while hovering and JEI will tell you
