  1. So my overall thoughts with this was, I was very impressed considering the limitations Bedrock still has for stuff like this. Now don't be expecting this to be as good as Java mini-map (we're a long way from that) but it was still very good for what it offers, it does have a bunch of limitations and maxing settings with cause a little lag here and there but still a solid addon for a good price! If you do consider buying this please use my support a creator link it really helps! https://minecraft.sjv.io/dy76D2 (this is Minecraft/mojangs NEW Affiliate program for creators like myself, just login with your Microsoft account and buy via the web! It'll auto apply to your platform when you log into Minecraft in your device, I'll make a video explaining it soon!)

  2. As someone who plays Java the first thing I compare this to is the Journey Map mod. I must say Bedrock has come a long way so hopefully some of the things I mention below could be added later.

Mobs being shown as mob heads is ok but you should have an option for dots instead which to me at least makes the map less cluttered. That would be RED dots for hostile mobs, White dots for neutral mobs such as cows and sheep and Green dots for villagers and traders. If you want to find Creepers you should be able to toggle back to mob heads.

It would be nice for the XYZ number as well as the biome your in displayed below the map. The XYZ number should be able to be turned off as you already have that on Bedrock. On Java that number is not on screen which is why it's featured in Journey Maps as opposed to hitting F3 all the time.

And finally watching you feature this Add-on on your PC and getting lag reminds me of the Minecraft TikTok meme where a Java player turns on Shaders on a low end PC only to have the game stutter at which point he screams "Oh my PC". I can imagine Bedrock players installing this Add-on screaming "Oh my console". If you're playing on say the PS5 Pro than this shouldn't be a problem.

  3. In their latest update, Minecraft has updated their Data-driven UI (DDUI). On the Minecraft Creator Channel, it was announced that this is one of the features they are updating. This will allow add-ons with user interfaces to remain constantly on screen without needing to hold a specific item to make the UI appear. They are also working on improving the jigsaw mechanic even more to make structures and biomes add-ons much better, and there are also upcoming updates for custom dimensions.

  4. Too bad that (as of typing this) it's HELLA unoptimized for switch 1. Super lagyy when running above the min size, near unresposive in full screen on ANY setting. And trying to use it with other add-ons completely crashes the game when loading into a world.
Here's hoping it'll get fixed sooner rather than later.

  5. It’s so annoying that every minecraft marketplace addon HAS TO have a settings and guidebook item… you can’t ever just have a simple extention, or a scary addon to prank your friends or anything 😭

  6. Hello Ecko! Thanks for your review. We are getting close to amazing addons!! I think a little bit more of time and we'll have java quality addons. 🎉 as always thanks!

  7. hi ecko, please review wan's moon dimension addon its on curseforge for free. (and mcpedl) EDIT: i know you review marketplace addons but you reviewed pfd so pls

  8. Well i wouldn’t really recommend using this mod mainly because since I play in high chunks, I can see what’s ahead of me instead of using a map, I mean it would’ve been good if it was w wider range but I know bedrock has limits which is still very cool and impressive that they did this and made it possible, so respect for the creators of this addon. But I do love the cave mode, the was great and useful to use

  9. As someone who almost exclusively uses the offhand for the starter map, this it just fine. I like how it positions directly below the coordinates to. Reminds me of Legacy Console where your coordinates were on the map.

All that's missing is for the mobs to have the Y coordinate so you know if they're up or down. An option to only show mobs only within a specific Y level of you would be nice too. And they should add a slider for how many mobs it shows, with it prioritizing different mobs over the same kind.
How does it work with added mobs? Maybe they can collaborate with other creators to make it work with their mobs too?

  10. I was gonna buy it but i don’t like the delay when moving and i don’t like how there’s no world map yet but i guess it’s bedrock tech issue

  11. A mini map is just what I’m used to by helping people like me to know how to go back to areas in case of getting lost with or without waypoints. And just to know where the entries are at all times in real time within your area. Plus, I hope that’s compatible with both mashup worlds, and other add ons as well

  12. I honestly really like this. Considering the current Bedrock limitations as well? This is genuinely pretty damn good I can’t lie. This is a big step towards more UI addons hopefully. I don’t want the creators to abandon this because this has huge potential

  13. I was hesitant at first, but I got it and I love it. It's simple, works for what I need, and it works on mobile. Not everything is going to be perfect. Swimming under water and seeing the mobs are so neat! And I love it works with A&S and Biomes O plenty. Now to see what else it's compatible with. 👍👍

  14. I cant wait until bedrock changes some of the UI abilities for mod makers bc so many mods require your offhand slot that you essentially have to choose one over the other… I have a backpack mod that I had to choose over a hiking mod and dont want to sacrifice extra storage for a map unfortunately. Looks good though

  15. Honestly i was tempting to buy this, but there is two problems which are big. The addon was made by MelonRP, and as far i saw they didn't never update their addon contents, one example is "Animations+", so is a huge risk buying this and not seeing bugfixes or better improvements on the addon for the future.

Other thing to take consider, the addon has a high demand of resources, i can noticed on your video you got framedrops of FPS while record the video when you change the resolution of the minimap, i been hearing too from people the FPS can drop in the worst posibles way using the addon in mid/low devices even having the view boobing turning off.

The minimap itself is not bad if you ignore the perfomance, probably all these are bedrock limitations too, but i will wait for other partherns making other minimap addon, until that i keep the Podcrash better maps, is too risky to buy something you maybe not gonna be able to use.

  16. For the caving, aside from the deepness it looks like it was your lighting/that you dug a tunnel too, cuz when you closed the tunnel it turned darker and when you re-opened it it turned light again. And as you saw, when you walked away from the tunnel-area in turned into cave 🙂

  17. Aw man, this makes me so happy man. I hope it can get as good as it can!(or even still this is fine if there's trouble!) Thank you Ecko for your reviews as always, ^^ With all of the good Marketplace add-ons, I'd just love to have coins some dsy, lol~

  18. Nice. I'm pretty good with just using maps and cartography in the game, but this is great for people who don't want to bother with that.

  19. Can u please make a video about adventure craft 1.1 they have done everything they just wait for Minecraft to accept it
Can u get a early excess or smth? Cuz this is gonna be the best addon i cant wait more!
