play the game on your own without looking at anything your first time. You’ll have many playthroughs later to 100% it. Just do eveything yourself and enjoy it

I regret looking at the wiki too early

When you get your first dinosaur egg don’t sell it or give it to the museum. You wanna keep it till you’re able to incubate it in your coop. Made that mistake my first go around and I’ve never let myself live it down since.

there is always next year! Make a list of tasks for the beginning of each season, so you dont get stressed about remembering whats needed.

i always regret not preparing for things, like the community center.

Just have fun and get your community bundles done so you can explore ginger island later.

Theres a bunch if fish that are seasonal and can only be caught at certain times or only when it is raining. You may want to look that information up.

The only way to screw up is to not have fun while you’re playing. If anything seems overwhelming, just take it one task at a time. There is absolutely no time limit or pressure to do anything in this game.

  6. Lots of fishing is way better to make money than farming in the early days

  7. There is no wrong way to play the game, set your own goals, ideas for design or relationships you may want with the other villiagers!

At the end of the day though, have fun and welcome to one of the best games I’ve had the pleasure to play!

When you find your first marble, keep it instead of donating to the museum, because you’ll need it for a crafting recipe. And true to any crafting game, when you need it, it’s harder to find for some reason 😭

Don’t rush things. Don’t start a day thinking “I have to this and I have to do that. I have be at this place at this time.” Just take it nice and slow. Way more fun this way.

Play the game. There is no wrong way to play it so don’t let anyone tell you how to.

Don’t be like me and make an entire binder of everything in the game.

The only tip I give new players is hoard EVERYTHING because you never know when you’re going to need it for a gift/recipe/bundle and then you sell it thinking you’re ok and now you have to wait a whole in game year to find it again.

  13. Disastrous-Ladder709 on

Take your time and play how you want to play. Not everything has to be money 💰.

Don’t make your first goal “clear out the entire farm.” Especially on a first playthrough, it’ll be YEARS before you need the full map. And cutting down like two trees is your entire energy bar in the early game.

Just relax and get to know it. Absolutely nothing is irreversible as far as finishing the game, and there is so much to do.

Also use the wiki as others have been saying.

Extra crops are there for you to eat, and so able to work all day without exaustion. So don’t sell everything you grow.

  17. Play the game at your own pace and look up something if you’re feeling lost.

  18. mayorofchihuahuatown on

Play without looking up stuff but keep one thing of each of anything. ☺️

Use basic sprinkers! Set them up in a pattern like a knight moves in chess, over 2 up 1 (=

  20. Tuxedocatbitches on

Never ever compare yourself to people on this sub. This sub is full of people who’ve played for thousands of hours already and come up with increasingly weird and wonderful challenges to keep the game fresh, which is delightful but can accidentally create a really negative comparison if you’re new and don’t know better.

  21. Munchkins_nDragons on

Don’t feel like you have to rush everything. It doesn’t all have to be completed the first year.

  22. On day five you’ll get a cutscene about a community center. Follow that thread! My first playthrough, I had no idea what to do and never unlocked it for a long time. In general, try to do the quests you get. They’ll teach you about the game.

Also, your pause menus are very useful!

  23. MonstrrSkye on

Keep a handful of everything, even things you don’t think you’ll need, everything has a purpose and sometimes multiple.

  24. Radiant-Cat1992 on

Do NOT blow all of your money on Spring 12. You want as many strawberry seeds as you can from rhe egg festival.
