The ONE item I need is the green strange doll. And you might say “just look at secret note #17!” The only problem with that is I already did and my DUMBass gave that green strange doll to Jas not knowing how rare they are otherwise (this is my first play through if that’s not obvious). My next best bet is treasure chests from fishing where I have a 0.12% chance of getting one. I made a as many magnets as I could and I’ve been fishing for days with no luck. I’m tired of this grandpa!

If you have the materials and open space on your farm, pop some treasure totems on the farm.
Bomb the tillable floor in skull cavern.
Don’t they appear in treasure troves?

I’d recommend the skull caverns. The deeper you go, you find rarer items.
I would go tilling in the mines. The chance is lower but think of how many tiles you can till quickly. You’re not even guaranteed a fishing chest every catch.
I’ve gotten both of the strange dolls doing that before.
I’m in the same boat but with the damn ostrich egg. I put it away somewhere for safe keeping until I got the incubator recipe, but by the time I got it, the egg was gone. I think I put it in the fridge and a recipe pulled it instead of a regular egg. But now I’m combing the volcano to get another one with no luck and it’s the last thing I need to complete the shipping tab (after I incubate a few lol).
and when you finally get one again, you know they will somehow start appearing all over. I was stuck on basalt for about 4 in-game years cause I donated the only one I had not knowing lava eels need that at some point and I switched all my ponds to lava eels.
Ignore everyone suggesting things like skull cavern (this one makes no sense) or fishing.
Tilling in the mines is by far the easiest way. By now you likely have an iridium hoe. A fully charged strike will till 18 spaces on floor 15, 55, or 95.
You can till a quick 18 spots on floor 15 and then go back to floor 0 to reset. Just bounce between 15 and 0. If you do this 128 times you’ll have had a 50% chance of finding at least one green doll.
If you are able to farm treasure totems then using them on the farm where you can get sixteen artifact spots means you’ll need 54 to get the same 50% chance. If you have the archeologist enchant on your hoe, you only need 27 for a 50% chance.
There’s also a simple way to cheese it if you’re okay with resetting days.

Treasure totems.
It spawns on the beach (which has the largest tillable space) so just spam treasure totems there. .06% for each tile the totem affects, every time you use a totem is 16 chances to get it.
This was my pain for the yellow doll.
I can only say a ton of treasure totems and a dedicated area to try them.
Then one day i got two at once. :/
