I’m pretty new to combat in general, and I barely made it past the Mechanical Bosses. If this setup looks weird, it’s because I honestly don’t know what I *should* be doing. The only reason I’m trying to lock in now is because Plantera’s boss fight has always scared me, for whatever reason.

I’ve also considered going down a more patient route and waiting to grind some Solar Eclipses, as I already have both True swords. I just want some outside opinions on this, since I technically have no experience beyond this point.

Yeah if you make a large open area and just keep enough distance I’d say she’s lowkey easier than the mech bosses, also place a honey pool next to a campfire and heart lantern for life regen just incase tho

  2. Daedalus stormbow won’t work underground if there are blocks where the screne cuts off, if you want a ranger class weapon, I would recommend the chlorophyte shotbow

True Exalibur is a good option for close(/true) range melee, though you did say you want to get terrablade

Spider staff… ehhh, it’s not the worst choice, but if you are gonna need a solar eclipse for terrablade, get Deadly Sphere staff (if that doesn’t require plant dead), they are decent against crowds, which plant definitely is considered “a crowd” due to the hooks

Light disk…. it, like basically all boomerangs, are better for single target… so the hooks will block it from being most effective

Beginning of hardmode tier wings, not a great choice but better than nothing, if you find a moth you should replace your current wings with butterfly wings, better stats (or, if you want… you could hold off for fishron wings, empress would want better flight stats)

Also… no lava charm / terraspark boots? World that unlucky?

Turtle armor has melee bonuses, so I would use the sword.

It can be useful to build a long 3-block high tunnel on the side of your arena to go through after phase 2 starts, since that version can’t shoot seeds and really slows down in small tunnels.

If you’re in classic mode, you can ‘cheese’ plantera with two teleporters a screen or two apart from each other with dirt walls in front of them, since in classic mode the seeds can’t go through walls. You just have to watch out for the tentacles hooking directly onto the teleporters.

If you want you can replace your boots with roller skates and just have 2 extra defensive/offensive accessories

Roller skates also give amazing Ariel mobility which is good for plantara as well

  5. First thing, farm out a couple dozen pixies in the Hallow to get fairy wings. Much better than angel wings.

Secondly, replace the obsidian walker boots with something like a star veil (cross necklace + star cloak.)

Next, the stormbow isn’t really good underground due to how it works, so try replacing it with a cloraphyte shot bow with either ichor or holy arrows.

This is mostly optional, but if you want to use the bow more than excalibur, switch to the range hallowed armour set.

Edit: removed the mention of adding a Charm of Myths since you’ve already got one.

Surprisingly planteras fight is pretty easy for that point in the game imo. Every time I fight her I just make a pretty big arena with 1 or 2 platforms and fly around her in a circle. I think the only time Ive died to her was my first calamity playthrough lol. Id listen to other commenters on gear advice but my arena advice is to just give yourself a good bit of space to go around her in

If you make a 15×15 arena with crimson/demonite armor and a flail you can beat it even without potions

Id do it just with the chlorophyte armor tbh as long the arena is big has lantern honey and campfire (bast statue optional) you’re good to go
