Year 4 and have never found any prismatic shards. I made a last minute trip to the quarry and managed to find two! Now, please someone tell me the best way to use them!!!

Go to the desert, you’ll see those three pillars on the right before entering skull cavern. Stand in the middle of them with a prismatic shard in hand for something cool!
Do not donate them, that’s for darn sure.
Use the 2nd one to enchant your weapon, via the Volcano on Ginger Island.
Edit: Forgot to say, not one but two Mystic Stones and two Prissys from them is pretty crazy.
