I’m working on a modpack, and it seems a lot of packs have quests, while mine doesn’t. It’s a tech based pack, and I’m considering adding some quests. My modpack if you think that might provide more detail (shameless plug)

decently important since they guide players through the modpack and how you intended for it to be played

Depends on the type of mod pack, but they should provide small goals to aid the journey of the player, so if the journey is difficult, it must be rewarding and that can be achieved by quests, among other things

But i would say that it should be one of the things to focus on, especially if the modpack has no clear goal, the quests should give them something to do and try and achieve, such as killing certain mobs, getting certain items and etc, but they should be evenly spaced too, no one likes being told to do x and have to do a million things before they can continue, it should be engaging but not too hard (unless intended) or tedious

Overall, decently important but depends on what your making

Depends on what your modpack is about.

Do you have a specific gimmick or playstyle in mind for the pack?

Is it a kitchen sink pack without any changes to progression or an ftb style/expert pack?

Are there custom mechanics, tweaked/gated recipes?

  4. I honestly don’t play mods without some sort of guide book. I’m not much of a sandbox player and enjoy having a clue about when I should do what otherwise I just adhd stumble around until I get bored and leave.
