In Minecraft 26.2 Snapshot 7 they “Added the ability to easily play with your friends through peer-to-peer, even when you’re not on the same local network”, essentially making Essential mod redundant.
This mod is infamous for it’s monetization practices and bloat.

So this is a pretty big change in terms of long term versioning for mods.
If the peer-to-peer changes works with mods, what benefit does 26.1 have over 26.2 in terms of being the ‘next’ major modding version?
