I made a post awhile back and some comments saying people typically build a base for themselves and their npcs and thats it, that they dont really build outside of what they have to or want their base to look like.

Ive built this castle which i need to rebuild bigger in another world as its smaller than the original one i made.
but ive build a feudal japanese styled town at spawn with a huge pagoda, a giant fleshy heart deep below it in the center of the earth. a miliatry air base with a jet that lets you teleport to another jet in the air. i built an sky island with missing gems placed through out the world for people to find and return to the island like a quest!
I built massive art pieces that sprawled across your screen giving you a massive pixel image.

so with all that said im wondering how much of the player base builds for fun and how many build only cause they need to?
and if you do build regularly, what are some of your favourite and builds your most proud of? and what was said build? thanks all!

I’ve historically been one of those players who just builds a base for them and their npc’s but recently I’ve tried to build other stuff. Terraria’s deco system is just very daunting to me and I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing when I try to build anything 😓

  2. I have my npc tower, and i have my chest box with optimal storage distancing from my crafting stations. Everything else around my base has been mined/blown up, and replaced with background walls to prevent any spawns. My eventual goal is to remove the entire world.

I build unique houses for every npc every playthrough since the pylon system is so helpful. i dont really build outside of that and my own living space.

after failing to kill the moon lord so many times, I decided to make nice houses for all NPC.
but not just the kind that look good, I try to incorporate the NPCs character into how the house is designed.

like the Guide lives in a cozy house and underneath there is a hidden entrance to a mushroom cave where Truffle lives. So he can feel safe from all the other NPCs trying to eat him. and the cave is plenty big so it is not like he lives in a jail or something.

The Arms dealer has a fully equipped shop and a shooting range hidden deep inside a sand mountain.
It also doubles as separate storage for items from each class. I store my shroomite armor, all ranges weapons, and whatever else ranger exclusive items there.

Couldnt figure out how to make a hospital so I made a nice penthouse on the sand hill for the Nurse. The penthouse conveniently hides the entryway to the Arms dealer, allowing him privacy and giving both NPCs access to each other.

Once im done with all bases, It would be nice to make some more structures that add to the whole lore
