I know that sometimes the villagers can ask for difficult things to get (like fish you can only fish up on rainy days in Winter or items that can only be caught next season if it’s the last day of one) but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone straight up asking for a Summer crop in Winter.

This is how I play. Requests come up any time.
Saving at least one is always a good idea. Especially for rare items. I have a whole shed just for that purpose. 😅
I don’t think the bulletin board requests ask for out of season items, but there are other reasons you may need them. For example I try to save a decent amount of blueberries for a certain quest that wants lots of different colored itemss
For newer players, there may be community center requirements they don’t know about where they haven’t unlocked the area yet.
My rule of them in general is to save 5 of each item if possible.
Quests will never ask for out of season crops, but they do ask for things at the very end of the season when it’s too late to grow more of that thing.
