Hey guys! I want to show you a technical energy mod I've been working on for NeoForge 1.21.1 called Caloric Flux.

The mod is built around thermodynamics and temperature difference instead of the usual “free energy from coal” approach.

Core Mechanic

You generate FE using the Delta-T between the left and right sides of the generator.

For example:

  • Lava + Blue Ice = larger temperature gap = more FE
  • Empty sides use the biome temperature instead

Thermal blocks are not infinite, though:

  • Lava cools into magma
  • Ice melts into water
  • Torches and campfires burn out

That means you actually need automation to maintain stable power generation.

Other Features

  • In-world multistage assembly system
  • Logistics Processor upgrade cards
  • Custom GUI with side configuration and overclocking
  • JEI + GuideME integration
  • Full datapack support for thermal blocks and assembly recipes

How to find?

I'd really appreciate feedback about:

  • bugs/crashes/performance
  • balance ideas
  • thermal block suggestions
  • possible upgrade cards

Thanks for checking it out!

  1. Looks great. Maybe consider making an upgraded version that stores the cold and hot inside a buffer, so you can just pipe in/out the materials (but at a higher material cost to craft)

  2. Interesting ive seen a few mods that do this. Think immersive engineering and mekanism. Iirc the mekaism one lets you do all sorts of blocks like blazing pyro whatever and super ice or something.
