  1. Also have no clue, bobo. . .

But I keep doing the quests for him because I love the raccoon family.

It’s just the life of bo ba bo bo .. this is a niche reference and if you get it, then I am so glad!

  3. Stardew fail: I have fully thought he was calling the farmer “babe” for months.

Maybe I need to wear my glasses when I play.

I like to think that “Bobo” means friend or chum in a similar way that calling someone or something “Bubba” does

This is a nickname I’ve had for my dog for years, so when I first saw this pop up in Stardew I fell in love.

Bobo is Concerned Ape’s placeholder name for the player. He just hasn’t fixed the code to replace it with *player name*.

  7. It’s funny cause that’s my horses name. So sometimes when i talk to him while on the horse i think he’s actually addressing my horse lol

Up until recently I always thought they were calling me babe. The font on my tv is pretty small 😂

I’m thinking it is just a nickname. But in Filipino language, bobo means stupid haha

  10. No idea. I think it’s meant to be a friendly term like “buddy” or “pal,” but that’s just speculation.

  11. Bobo means stupid in Tagalog/bisaya? I cracked up the first time he said it to me

    So says the interwebs:

“Bobo” as shorthand for “bourgeois-bohème” (French portmanteau) originated in France in the early 2000s. It was popularized by journalist David Brooks in his 2000 Atlantic article and in his later book usage, the term describes affluent, educated professionals who combine bourgeois economic status with bohemian cultural tastes (creative, progressive lifestyles). The French sociologist and writer who helped coin and spread the term in France was an anthropologist and journalist referencing similar social analysis; French media and commentators then adopted “bobo” widely to label gentrifying, culturally progressive urbanites.

Bobo is an ancient caveman word! Look up the really old movie Caveman with Ringo Starr (the beatle) and you might learn that word!

  14. One of the two “censored” names for when a random name turns out obscene is Bobo (the other is Wumbus). So I think the Raccoon is calling you a whole variety of cusses and slurs, and the game is just trying to keep it family friendly.

  15. Not sure if there are any other Filipinos here, but Bobo means idiot in our language.

  16. ‘Bobo’ means ‘stupid’ in my language, so I never finished his quests, it felt like Mr. Raccoon was mocking me. lol

  17. Check your character profile page, bro. Did you perhaps name your farmer Bobo when you started the save? The raccoon just uses whatever name you gave your character lmao.
