Honestly I don’t mind her that much, I just wish she got along with her sister better :/

For me, her dialogue (esp. early) reminds me too much of the girls in high school who were, let’s say, less than kind to those of us not in the “popular” crowd. Little digs & insults, etc. I mostly ignored them then, & I do the same in-game w/ Haley. Her photography interest eventually redeems her somewhat so she talks about something other than shopping/complaining about the town/insulting the farmer, but I’ve never been the slightest bit interested in choosing her as a spouse.

I don’t like her much. I’ve seen some people here say she has a good growth arc. Maybe I haven’t gotten all of her heart events yet but I haven’t seen anything spectacular. The last one I got was taking pictures with the cows, which was cute and I liked the way it was done.

on my first farm i didn’t really care much for her and didn’t pay her much attention, but still gave her gifts and raised her friendship for the sake of completion. never dated her.
on my second run, having already “completed” the game i am more free to be a chaos agent and ignore/antagonize people for fun because i already know the plot points and am no longer urged to “win” the game.
so i’ve been having a blast just gifting her slime and mud and sap and watching her get mad and say “ew…” or “gross!”. i’ll sneak into her room and empty all the trash out of my inventory onto her floor. real mature stuff.
i loved going up to her immediately at the flower dance and asking her to dance for her to say “ugh. no thanks.”
but then as time goes on … relationship points naturally increase. even if you give bad gifts you are still giving gifts and talking. eventually she started to sweeten up to me … and me to her. i also decided i wanted to date everyone this game (chaos!) so of course i raised her hearts up and gave her a bouquet (i also repeatedly tried to giver her a bouquet at lower heart levels just to make her mad and reject me).
i wouldn’t say we have the healthiest of relationships, but we do have a relationship.
i’m not sure what will happen when i propose to penny though. that’s my current plan… propose to penny, get married, divorce her, and then end up with emily.
though it might be funnier if i marry haley and then dump her for emily…

I can’t do it. I’ve played a number of games, and had playthroughs where I really worked on getting hearts up with everyone, so I’ve seen at least some of her story, but I genuinely still don’t understand the Haley love. More power to the people who enjoy it and are Haley forever stans, but I just don’t relate. She has interesting character development, but not accountability for past behavior so I feel like I’m just supposed to love her being a mean girl and also the later details I get about her.

I like it when characters have growth, and while I don’t think its done super well in the limited amount of time, I still enjoy it. Imo people saying that theres no accountability or her apologizing to other characters are expecting a bit to much out of the game, but I can see where the mean girl personality would throw them off.
