Hey r/feedthebeast! A while back, I made a couple of posts about a mod I was building called True Polymorph that let you craft items directly from base materials. The support for the prototype was honestly overwhelming, so thank you all for that. After some life delays, a full architectural rewrite, and a name change, I'm finally ready to introduce you all to the beta release of Fabricate!

Quick refresher: skip intermediate crafting steps entirely. Got an oak log and want a wooden shovel? Don't bother breaking it down into planks and sticks first, let Fabricate handle that for you. Since the rewrite, I've been testing exclusively against GregTech and other microcrafting-heavy modpacks, and the results speak for themselves.

Fabricate targets Forge 1.20.1 and is up on Modrinth pending approval. QOL improvements and broader launcher/version support are on the roadmap, but for now, I'm really happy with where it's at. You can grab it here once Modrinth's review process wraps up.

Thanks again, and happy crafting!

this is awesome! what happens if there are multiple ways to craft to get the same result? are you able to choose which recipe is the default chosen?
