Here's the idea if you haven't seen the post on r/minecraftsuggestions

Minecraft currently lacks a cohesive dark metal block set. Iron is bright, Chains are dark, and Netherite isn’t really viable for building because it is expensive. Adding Wrought Iron would fill this gap with a builder-focused material that complements existing styles without really affecting in-game material progression (would not add new tool/ weapon/ armor tier). I have always wanted to use a gothic-style metal block set for graveyards, haunted mansions, and dungeons!

This variant of Iron is used strictly for decorative and utility blocks. It is not as expensive as a Block of Iron for example, allowing for more building material. Smelt Iron Nuggets in a Blast Furnace to get a Wrought Iron Billet. True to wrought iron processing terminology!

It visually aligns with chains/lanterns (not with smiting table, netherite, or anvil texture pallets)

…functional consistency with the copper block set for crafting as well.

This is absolutely delicious! That Soul Lateran on-top of those blocks, goodness gracious we need it..

However, I feel like another set where you have to manage/wax is something I’m not a huge fan of. Don’t get me wrong, as that Rust gives us a strong metallic brown we don’t have.

Another thing, I’d be personally fine with more expensive additions; like Netherite Bars and other precious materials being used.

I suppose they don’t want to tread on the, “Creative Only,” block path again, or where it becomes impracticable in large quantities for Survival. I think it’s okay for certain things to be much harder in Survival.

As such, it becomes much more impressive if it’s done in Survival.
